Hospital Service

Ophthalmology is a medical specialty focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of disorders related to the eyes and visual system. At Jass Diagnostics and Gynae Care, our team of experienced ophthalmologists is dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. We strive to preserve and enhance vision, promote eye health, and manage a wide range of eye conditions.

Our ophthalmologists conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity, eye coordination, and overall eye health. These comprehensive exams include evaluations of the cornea, lens, retina, optic nerve, and other structures of the eye. By utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques, we can accurately diagnose eye conditions and develop personalized treatment plans.

Many sight threatening diseases if detected early can be cured or treated to prevent or slow the progression of serious vision loss.

The most important step in preventing visual loss is by routine examination of eyes by a qualified eye care professional. Children should receive their first comprehensive eye examination before the age of four unless problems warrant an earlier examination. Persons ages 20 to 40 should have an eye examination every five years, 40 to 60 every two years and after 60 every year if there are no visual problems. Immediate care is required if there is visual change, pain, flashes of light, new floaters, injury or tearing etc.

Persons with diabetes are at greater risk for several eye disorders including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and cataract, and should have eye examination every year or as per their doctor's advice. Asians are more at risk of glaucoma and should have regular check up after 40 years of age especially with positive family history of glaucoma.

  • Refractive Errors and Prescription Eyewear:

Our ophthalmology department specializes in diagnosing and correcting refractive errors that affect vision. This includes nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), astigmatism, and presbyopia. Our ophthalmologists can prescribe corrective lenses, including glasses or contact lenses, to improve visual acuity and clarity.

  • Cataract Evaluation and Surgery:

Cataracts are a common age-related condition that causes clouding of the natural lens of the eye, resulting in blurry vision. Our ophthalmologists offer comprehensive evaluations for cataracts and provide surgical interventions, such as phacoemulsification, to remove the cloudy lens and replace it with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). Cataract surgery can significantly improve vision and restore visual quality.

  • Glaucoma Management:

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases characterized by increased intraocular pressure, which can damage the optic nerve and lead to vision loss if left untreated. Our ophthalmologists perform comprehensive evaluations to diagnose glaucoma and provide ongoing management, including medications, laser therapy, or surgical interventions, to control intraocular pressure and preserve vision.

  • Clinical Trials and Research:

As part of our commitment to advancing knowledge and improving treatment outcomes, we actively participate in clinical trials and research initiatives. This allows us to offer eligible patients access to cutting-edge therapies and innovative treatment approaches that may not be widely available.
